Sprinter Shelves to carry 16 Seymour Stained Glass Tables
We bought our short/short
Freightliner Sprinter Passenger Wagon on 21 Dec 2005.
One week later we removed the seats, the wall dress panels, and
started drilling holes for PlusNut bolt anchors.
The conversion was done in the street, in the evenings and weekends.
One month later, we loaded Karen Seymour's "Seymour Stained Glass" booth
into the van to exhibit at the Seattle Flower and Garden Show.
(our Load-in was at 2pm... i was still bolting bits into place at 1pm)
(all pictures link to bigger images, the final two to Karen's site)

First, a wooden frame bolted to 8 PlusNuts |
Skyhooks hung from next-to-ceiling framework |
Side shelves are hinged to 1x6 plank bolted to the side |
Shelves are hollow core doors Bungee rails low on the sides |
|
Shelf behind seats is bifold. Here it's up |
...in transit... |
...down. It's braced by a skyhook which reaches the floor, but is not secured to the floor |
Detail. Note U-bolt "securing" frame to grab handle |
|
Loading: tables are on feet to stagger them vertically. This allows overlap. |
The green sticks are ten feet long, extending between the front seats. |
A square table goes into the side door |
Then the shelf is dropped and filled. (Crate of books on step-filler, footstools wedged on top) |
|
Between the front seats are folding chairs and table legs. |
Under the passenger's feet is a yard umbrella base. |
One full Sprinter: 13 fully assembled stained glass tables. 3 disassembled. |
Whoops... plus the carpet pad. |
|
Karen, glazed |
The entire load (less a few, actually). The largest is 5 feet by 3 feet. They're laid out in roughly a 9 x 9 foot area. |
